Clio Publishing House

Visual Identity

For Clio Publishing, a printing house that exclusively prints history-related books, I was tasked with modernising their logo while staying true to the original concept. The design highlights Clio, the Greek muse of history, drawing inspiration from ancient vase paintings to reflect the depth and richness of historical storytelling.

While the original logo had a similar theme, my goal was to give it a fresh, contemporary feel. I incorporated elements inspired by ex librises – those neat, personal stamps often found in books – to create a timeless, bookish quality. This nod to tradition connects the logo to the classic art of book printing, while the streamlined design ensures it feels relevant in today's market.

By balancing historical references with modern aesthetics, the new logo captures the essence of Clio Publishing’s dedication to history while appealing to a broader, modern audience. It’s a perfect fit for a brand that respects the past but also looks to the future.
